THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TEA AND THEIR PROPERTIES
BLACK TEA: ENERGY AND VITALITY!
To produce this variety of tea, fresh Camelia Sinensis leaves go through a process of oxidation and transform from their original green colour to a dark brown colour, giving their aroma a more complex quality.
The end product has a chestnut brown or amber colour and features a strong body and flavour profile. Black tea’s oxidation promotes the release of caffeine when infused, making it the most stimulating variety.

This tea is dark with reddish tones and a notably earthy character.

GREEN TEA: GREAT ANTIOXIDANT POWER!
Oxidation of the tea leaves is prevented by rapid blanching to deactivate the oxidase enzyme. The resulting tea is light-bodied, slightly herbal, fresh and vegetal tasting, and features yellowish, greenish or golden tones.

WHITE TEA: THE MOST BEAUTIFYING TEA!
This tea is made from the plant’s three terminal leaves and uses the unopened bud and its "white fluff" layer, which gives this variety its name. The unoxidised leaves are wilted and dried by hand, preserving all the plant’s flavour and properties. It is the most select category and stands out for the high antioxidant intake it provides the drinker..

OOLONG TEA: GREAT DIGESTIVE POWER!
Sometimes called semi-oxidised tea or blue tea. During its preparation process, the tea leaves go through a rolling process that is repeated up to twenty times. This variety combines the characteristics of both green and black teas, and some characteristics enjoy a stronger presence than others depending on its degree of oxidation. The resulting infusion features a balanced and lightly toasted flavour with complete absence of astringency. The tea’s colours feature deep orange ochres.

YELLOW TEA: DIGESTIVE AND ANTIOXIDANT!
The special production process used for this tea is known to be very old. The leaves are blanched, as in the case of green tea, to prevent oxidation and are then covered with cloth, allowing them to dry slowly, until completely cooled. This slow drying causes them to darken slightly, and the final tea features a yellow colour. It is renowned for its diuretic and antioxidant function.

ROOIBOS: BRINGS YOU VITAMINS AND MINERALS!
Rooibos comes from the Aspalathus linearis, a South African bush. In the Afrikaans language, "rooibos" means "red bush", a name inspired by the colour its leaves acquire once they dry.
To make rooibos, the leaves are left out to oxidise in the sun - just as classic teas are made - and it’s this oxidative process that gives rooibos its flavour and characteristic red colour.
