Forest Friendly Teas

Unique and exclusive selection of organic teas, sustainably harvested to preserve biodiversity and support local communities.

About Forest Friendly Teas

The Forest Friendly Tea project is a sustainable program that aims to produce tea that grows wild among the mountain forests of Northern Thailand and Sri Lanka (Adam’s Peak), in complete harmony with the surrounding vegetation, while preventing deforestation and soil erosion, preserving biodiversity, and providing sustainable income to local communities.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A FOREST FRIENDLY TEA

A Forest Friendly Tea comes from the wild tea plant Camellia Sinensis Assamica, which, unlike the Camellia Sinensis Sinensis variety that is found in large tea plantations, grows naturally in the wild. The Camellia Sinensis Assamica does not require any pesticides, fertilizers or water irrigation system. It feeds on the ecosystem that surrounds it, which provides unique qualities, flavours and aromas to the tea. Forest Friendly Teas are high quality and fragrant teas. Only the shoot and first two leaves of the plant are used in its production.

FOREST FRIENDLY TEAS OF THAILAND

Very fragrant, with fruity and floral notes, fully flavoured with an enveloping character.
These teas cannot be classified according to the flavour profiles of the major tea families, as their taste and aroma are reminiscent of Black, Green and Oolong Teas.
Each Forest Friendly variety has their own specific characteristics.
